Atlanta, Ga. Designed for applications that require exchangeable fuses in a compact surface-mount package, the WICKMANN surface-mount fuse holder and system allows for an easy, one-step installation on a PC-board using automatic placement equipment.
The new X-SMQ series offers end users and service technicians the ability to easily exchange and replace a blown fuse, which eliminates the need for desoldering surface-mount fuses, said the company. This also reduces the chance of potential damage to the PC-board and adjacent components.
Available in both quick acting and time lag fusing characteristics, the X-SMQ is rated for applications up to 125 volts. Initially, current ratings range from 62 mA to 7 amps. The series complies with the requirements in Section 9.10 of Telcordia GR-1089 that outlines short circuit tests in central office telecom equipment, and is UL Recognized. Terminations are plated with a tin/nickel coating.
The X-SMQ holder and fuse system is compatible with all IR reflow soldering processes. Packaged on blister tape (1,500 pieces per reel), unit pricing is $0.49 in OEM quantities.
