Holliston, Mass. - XPiQ's low-profile AC/DC power shelf, with 1.8, 2.1 and 2.4 kW capacity (depending on output voltage), fits into a 1U-high 19-inch rack and, at 11.56 inches deep meets European Telecommunications Standards Institute (ETSI) requirements. The ZCA-1U3R-R system, comprising three of the company's ZC8 800-watt rectifiers and the rack, is designed to allow more space for system electronics in telecom, networking, storage and wireless base-station applications. It can be applied in bulk power situations as well as to distributed power architectures. It is also suited to N+1 redundant schemes (1.2, 1.4 and 1.6 kW capacity) and hot-swap applications. Outputs are 12, 24 or 48 VDC, adjustable to ±5 percent. The 12-volt system is suited to powering low cost, non-isolated DC/DC converters and does not require additional isolation for the 48-volt intermediate bus. These compact switching supplies offer comprehensive control and monitoring, including remote sense capability, current share, individual power fail and DC-good signals, module present, output voltage adjust, global inhibit and +5V standby output. An optional I2C interface allows users to set and monitor their preferred configuration.
Other features include up to 85 percent efficiency, no minimum load requirement, ±2 percent line/load regulation, 20 ms hold-up time, and current sharing to within ±10 percent. Comprehensive circuit protection is built-in and the ZCA-1U3R-R meets all major international safety and EMC approvals.
The power system is available now and priced at $2,000 in quantities of 100 units. Contact Duane Darrow.
