Belvidere, Ill. NDK (Nihon Dempa Kogyo Co., Ltd.) is offering a new miniature voltage controlled crystal oscillator (VCXO) with an extended frequency range up to 180 MHz in a 7 x 5 x 1.6-mm footprint. Housed in a hermetically sealed 6-pad SMD package, the NV7050SA series is available in the frequency range of 1.544 to 180 MHz. Applications include telecom and enterprise networks, base stations, and instrumentation.
The NV7050SA delivers a CMOS output in the 1.544 to 80 MHz frequency range and a PECL output in the 80 to 180 MHz frequency range. This VCXO has an operating temperature range of -40°C to 85°C with a frequency stability of ±50 ppm maximum and an absolute pull range of ±100 ppm. It operates on a supply voltage of 3.3 Vdc while consuming 30 mA maximum on the CMOS output and 70 mA maximum for PECL. The NV7050SA has a control voltage of 0 to 3.3 Vdc with a load of 15 pF (CMOS) and 50 ohms (PECL).
The NV7050SA series is priced at less than $5.00 each in quantities of 2,000. Engineering samples can be ordered at NDK's web site by clicking on the "order a sample" button or by calling (800) NDK-XTAL (635-9825). Volume production will begin in October 2004.
