Romoland, Calif. Designed for a variety of communications and networking applications, the new CT323 surface-mount current sense transformers from Datatronic Distribution, Inc. are rated at 20 amps in a 4.8-mm square package. The company says this surpasses the 10 A rating typically available for this type of device.
The CT323 devices sense current output changes to provide feedback for overload detection, emergency shutdown functions and power regulation. They support dc/dc converters, particularly in routers, bridges, hubs and telephone switching equipment.
In addition, the CT323 transformers feature a low-seated profile of 4.1 mm (0.162 inch) and a wide operating temperature range of 55°C to 155°C. These transformers offer a turns ratios from 1:20 to 1:200 and perform optimally at frequencies of 100 kHz and above. Key electrical parameters include an inductance of 100 to 12200 mH, a resistance range of 0.50 ohms to 33.24 ohms maximum and an isolation voltage of 500 Vrms minimum. Custom designs are available.
The CT323 Series is manufactured with UL94V0 compliant materials. The devices are compatible with high-speed automated pick-and-place assembly and high-temperature soldering equipment.
Available in tube and tape-and-reel packaging, the CT323 series is priced from $0.69 each in production volume. Delivery is from stock to six weeks.
