Carlsbad, Calif. - Emerson Network Power's NTS358, a new 48-volt model that's an addition to the company's Astec NTS Series of 350-watt, 1U-sized bulk AC/DC switching power supplies, can deliver full rated output over 0 to +50°C with 30 CFM forced air (derated 2.5 percent/°C to +°70C), or 200 watts with convection cooling. The universal-input supply, for distributed power architectures, is also suited for use as an AC/DC front end for DC/DC converters in telecommunications, networking, test and measurement, single-board computers and gigabit Ethernet devices.
The supply features active power-factor correction, a 12-volt 1-amp auxiliary output, a 5-volt at 2-amp standby output, and a built-in OR-ing diode for redundant configurations. The NTS358 includes a built-in Class B EMI filter, remote sense, remote inhibit, and single-wire parallel connection on the primary output that enables current-sharing to balance loads. The unit, in a compact 4-by 7-inch footprint, operates at 85 percent efficiency. It comes standard with overload, over-voltage and thermal protection. The supply is available with a top cover fan and can be set up for lengthwise or crosswise airflow. MTBF is more than 1 million hours at full load in 25°C ambient conditions.
The NTS358 complies with IEC EN61000-3-2 harmonic and IEC EN61000-4-X susceptibility standards. It also complies with worldwide safety and performance standards from UL, CSA, VDE, NEMKO, AUSTEL, CB and CE. The NTS358 is priced beginning at $299 in OEM quantities.
