Raleigh, NC - Expanding on its high-power-density capabilities, Eaton Corporation's Powerware 5125 uninterruptible power systems now include 5- and 6-kVA models, which measure 5.25 (3U) by 17.5 by 26 inches. The single-phase, line-interactive UPSes in the 5125 family tout a 0.9 power factor for the rackmount and two-in-one (rackmount and tower form-factor) versions; thus users have more usable power (5.4 kW for the 6 kVA model) than many competitive UPSes having equivalent VA ratings. In this case, the new UPSes can power 30 percent more equipment in 40 percent less space, according to the company.
Other features include hot-swappable power modules and batteries. The UPSes also include the company's Advanced Battery Management (ABM) charge and monitoring system. The 5125 5- and 6-kVA systems come with batteries. Pricing starts at $2,700.
