Belvidere, Ill. NDK (Nihon Dempa Kogyo Co., Ltd.) has announced the availability of its new 2775Y, 2775W, and 2785V series of programmable crystal clock oscillators (XOs) that can be shipped in 24 hours or less. Designed to shorten lead time for prototyping or for low volume production applications, NDK's frequency writing technology allows standard units to be tuned at the company's design centers in North America, Asia, and Europe to the required frequency very quickly, according to the company.
These products are suited for new product development where in-circuit testing with the proper frequency crystal oscillators is required while a more exact oscillator is developed for production, said the company, or they can also be used for smaller production runs that would not warrant the development of a special XO.
These XOs utilize phase locked loop (PLL) technology enabling the devices to cover the frequency range of 1.0 to 181 MHz. They are housed in a miniature, hermetically sealed, 4-pad, SMD package measuring 5.0 x 3.2 mm with a thickness of 1.0 mm. The standard frequency stability is ±100 ppm at -20°C to 70°C. They are also available with a frequency stability of ±50 ppm at -10°C to 70°C. All of the products have a tri-state standby function.
The 2775Y series operates on a supply voltage of 3.3 Vdc while consuming 15 to 30 mA maximum (frequency dependent) and 30 μA maximum in standby, and delivers a CMOS output level.
Delivering a CMOS output level, the 2775W series operates on a supply voltage of 5 Vdc, and consumes 25 to 50 mA maximum (frequency dependent) and 50μA maximum in standby.
The 2785V series, with a TTL output level, operates on a supply voltage of 5 Vdc and consumes 25 to 50 mA maximum (frequency dependent) and 50 μA maximum in standby.
Delivered on an embossed carrier tape, trays, or bulk the devices are lead-free and meet the requirements of reflow profiling using lead-free solder.
