Sunnyvale, CA -- Maxim Integrated Products introduces the MAX7500/MAX7501/MAX7502 small, low-cost, single temperature sensors that accurately measure and convert temperature to digital format using an integrated low-noise, sigma-delta, analog-to-digital converter (ADC). The temperature data can be used to enable an over-temperature alarm, interrupt, or shutdown outputs.
The MAX7500/MAX7501/MAX7502 communicate via an I2C -compatible, 2-wire serial interface. Internal bus-lockup (TIMEOUT) protection guards against communication errors by detecting I2C bus-lockup conditions and resetting the temperature sensor's bus interface. These features make the MAX7500/MAX7501/MAX7502 the ideal choice for a variety of applications, including personal computers, servers, and industrial process control.
The MAX7500 features three address-select lines. The MAX7501 and MAX7502 offer two address-select lines and a manual reset input. Manual reset input provides a way to reset the bus and all the internal registers to their original POR values. All devices operate from a 3.0V to 5.5V supply-voltage range and consume only 250 microamps of supply current.
The MAX7500/MAX7501/MAX7502 operate over a wide -55 degrees Celsius to +125 degrees Celsius temperature range. Prices start at $0.65 (2500-up, FOB USA).
