Laird Technologies has introduced a Sculpted Foam UL94 VO rated Fabric-Over-Foam shielding gasket product line.
The sculpted foam technology offers unmatched compression set while providing a relatively soft Compression Load Deflection (CLD). Furthermore, low compression set results will provide improved shielding effectiveness over the life of the gasket. In extended testing over time and at elevated temperatures, the sculpted foam gaskets yielded compression set values up to 50% better than competing gaskets. Available in a variety of complex shapes, the abrasion resistant Sculpted Foam gaskets are compliant with the European RoHS and WEEE directives that ban the use of Brominated and heavy metal components in electrical and electronic equipment. Additionally, the lower CLD properties of the Sculpted Foam gaskets in application reduce the potential for equipment or chassis wall distortion.
Moreover, when the gasket is compressed greater than the recommended 50%, the compression force is reduced by half.
