Belvidere, Ill. Measuring 5.0 x 3.2 mm with a height of 1.4-mm, NDK's (Nihon Dempa Kogyo Co., Ltd.) new NT5032S surface-mount temperature compensated crystal oscillator (TCXO) series offers standard frequencies for GPS and satellite radio applications.
The NT5032S series is available in standard frequencies of 12.504, 16.384, 18.414, and 19.2 MHz that are popular in GPS applications, and is also available in popular standard frequencies including 23.92 and 30 MHz for satellite radio applications. Other frequencies are available.
The NT5032S exhibits an excellent frequency stability of ±2.5-ppm maximum over the wide operating temperature range of -30°C to 75°C. The unit is designed with superior environmental performance including high impact and vibration resistance to handle rugged applications like GPS and satellite radio, said the company.
The device operates on a low supply voltage of 3 Vdc while consuming only 1.5 mA maximum with a load of 10 kohm/10 pF. The NT5032S has an output voltage of 0.8V (peak to peak) minimum and the audio frequency control (AFC) characteristics are ±9 to ±15 ppm at 1.5V ±1V. Aging characteristics are ±1 ppm per year. The lead-free NT5032S meets the requirements for reflow profiling using lead-free solder.
The NT5032S, packaged on tape and reel, is priced at approximately $2.85 each in quantities of 10,000. Qualified engineering samples may be ordered at no cost. Delivery is 10 to 12 weeks.
