Hackettstown, NJ - Transistor Devices' (TDI) new environmentally sealed DC power plant provides outside plant power, DC distribution, battery back-up and remote monitoring and alarm capabilities in a front access, weather-resistant enclosure for remote site telecommunications applications. The system delivers up to 1,000 watts of 24 or 48 VDC power with up 4 hours of battery backup if the power line fails.
The power plant utilizes a hinged-cabinet design to separate the NEMA 3R battery cabinet from the NEMA 4X electronics cabinet. Separation of battery and rectifier cabinets keeps both internal cabinet temperatures within a safe operating range during the most extreme environmental conditions. The enclosure can be mounted virtually anywhere. Options include pad, wall, and pole mounting. Designed to survive earthquakes (zone 4), driving rain, vandalism and temperature extremes, the power plant provides reliable and economical power to remote sites serving cellular/PCS, fiber-to-the-curb, broadband network, wireless local loop and other medium to low amperage outdoor telecommunications applications.
