Chiba, Japan Daishinku Corp. claims to offer the industry's smallest clock oscillator, measuring 2.5 x 2.0 x 0.82 mm (0.9 mm max). The DSO221SV also features low power consumption and a wide frequency range.
The new DSO221SV is a high precision oscillator that outputs reference frequencies for digital equipment. Frequency ranges are available from 1 MHz to 54 MHz with a frequency tolerance of ±50 ppm or ±100 ppm. The company said the new oscillator weighs 50% less than its conventional DSO321SV version, and has reduced power consumption by 20%. Power consumption is rated at 1.8 mA maximum at less than 32 MHz, and 2.5 mA maximum from 32 to 54 MHz.
Offering high reliability and high precision, the metal cap of DSO221SV is seam-welded and lead-free. Applications include mobile phones, radio LAN, and digital TV.
The DS0221SV is priced at $1.70 in quantities of 50,000. Samples are available now with volume production scheduled for January 2005.
