InduKey Keyboard Production, the German specialist for industrial data input devices extended its product range in the field of modern touch screen systems. By completing the already existing assortment of high quality touch systems Indukey now offers individually confectioned touch screens in analog resistive technology from 1" to 21".
The company is using the technical know-how of an Asian partner company which developes and produces touch input systems for EDP, for usage in PDAs and further mobile equipment in numerous projects. Resistive touchscreens are available in 4-wire but also in 5-wire-technology. Touchscreens are made of a basic carrier material (foil or glass) and a upper foil, both coated with facing layers of conductive material with specific electric resistance (ITO).
The distance between both layers is guaranteed by very small printed isolation points. When the surface foil is pressed down, the ITO layers touch and the exact contact point can be calculated by resistance measuring in X- and Y-Direction. These permanent measurements are done by an electronic control. In case of electric contact a signal is sent to the computer.
InduKey offers these electronic controls for USB-, PS/2- and RS232-interface. PC connecting cables, touchscreen connecting cables, driver-CDs for all current Microsoft operating systems and a technical documentation are delivered together with the touchscreen.
