Cary, N.C. MTS Sensors is offering a free upgrade to its liquid level gauge set-up software. Available for download at its web site, the MG version 3.00 software for DDA or Modbus digital sensors provides several enhanced features including data logging and analysis via Excel documents and charts. The software enables logging of product and interface levels, temperature and diagnostic functions.
MTS Sensors also announced ATEX approval for its MG series liquid level gauges. The ATEX approval signifies that the sensors may be sold and used worldwide as an intrinsically safe device. With the use of a separate intrinsically safe barrier, these MTS sensors may be used in hazardous locations where there is a potential for explosions via flammable gases, dust or vapors. The directive was adopted by the European Union and is required for use in all EU countries.
The ATEX "ex" symbol carries with it approvals for use in the following hazardous areas of explosion: Group IIA; II1/2 G or 2 G EEx ia IIA T4 and Group IIB; II1/2 G or 2 G EEx ia IIB T4. MTS liquid level gauges are also CSA, FM, JIIS and NEPSI approved.
The company has also introduced a new Slave LCD operator interface terminal for use with its digital MG series liquid level sensors. The CL01 Slave LCD Interface Terminal is a LCD readout screen with expanded keypad functionality. The CL01 provides at-a-glance level, temperature and interface measurements simultaneously from the MTS DDA interface.
Standard features of the CL01 include a two line by twenty-character liquid crystal display with LED backlighting and selectable address keys for quick set-up. The terminal offers agency approvals for use in Class I, II and III/Division 2 hazardous locations with gas groups B (hydrogen), C (ethylene), D (propane), F (carbonaceous dusts) and G (grain dusts).
