November 10, 2004 Pittsburgh, PA Ansoft Corporation and Taiyo Yuden today announced the release of a new device library for Ansoft Designer and Nexxim based on Taiyo Yuden's high-density miniaturized surface-mount components. The component library helps engineers designing electronic equipment, such as WLANs, car navigation systems, base stations and cellular handsets, by providing accurate electrical responses and mechanical layout features for manufacturing.
The library consists of three principle passive surface-mount components: capacitors, ferrite beads, and multilayer inductors.
Each component in the new library utilizes S-parameter data based on Taiyo Yuden's advanced characterization lab for greater accuracy and fewer prototype cycles. Additionally, each component can utilize a built-in frequency-dependent equivalent circuit for a 4x speedup in simulation time over the S-parameter-based model by toggling the component's model attribute.
The library can be downloaded from from Taiyo Yuden's Web site (www.t-yuden.com ) and can be configured for use within Ansoft Designer/Nexxim.
