Santa Rosa, Calif. Schurter Inc.'s new CLS 16 capacitive sensor is designed to control liquid levels in both non-metal and metal tubs and tanks. The sensor's flat design is particularly suited for use in sinks, bathtubs, hot tubs, spas and other containers of non-aggressive liquids.
Featuring an aluminum housing, the compact sensor has a small mounting diameter of 16 millimeters (mm) and a short mounting depth of 8 mm behind the panel. The CLS 16 has a NPN output, and requires a supply voltage of 7.5 to 24 Vdc. It has 3-wire connections with a standard wire length of 2 meters. It is fitted with a sealing o-ring and hex-nut (included).
The standard color is white (RAL9016), but can be varnished in colors that blend with the mounting surface color. A compensation feature for whirl-pooling or splashing water is also available as an added option.
Since the CLS 16 has no mechanical parts that are more likely to fail due to wear and tear, said the company, it's longer lasting and more reliable when compared to mechanical solutions. In addition, it can withstand harsh weather and extreme temperatures from 0°C to 70°C, which makes it suitable for outdoor applications.
Pricing is $49.82 in quantities of 50. Small quantities are available from stock. Delivery for special colors is 12 weeks.
