Melville, N.Y. PartMiner, Inc., a leading global provider of information and commerce services for electronic components, has launched a new online analytical tool that enables customers to assess the price range and market availability for multiple parts simultaneously. Initially available as a PC-based service, the Procure tool includes historical pricing and availability information for a broad range of components including semiconductors, passives and interconnects.
Based on 15 years of market pricing history derived from more than 16 million line items, this new tool enables engineers and buyers to assess commercial price and supply information for their bill or materials (BOM), or multiple parts, to will help them make more informed buying decisions, said Ron Knox, PartMiner's director of business development.
Knox said the tool allows purchasers and engineers to get a baseline cost for a new system. The records provide both the high/low price for a component as well as the recorded date for the pricing information.
The Procurement tool will be available as a web-based tool in first quarter 2005.
The company offers online access to the CAPS database that provides searchable technical data for more than 32 million components from 1,800+ manufacturers, as well as RFQ submission and management tools.
