Raleigh, N.C. Offering designers of portable electronic equipment another choice in ultra-low resistance and high current resistor options, Stackpole Electronics Inc. has introduced a new current sense chip resistor, in a 2512 case size, capable of withstanding currents to 63 amps.
The new CSRL2 chip resistor is rated to 2 watts at 70°C and offers resistance values as low as .0005 ohms, in tolerances to 1%. The new device also exhibits extremely low inductance of less than 0.2 nH, and temperature coefficient of resistance (TCR) of less than ±100 ppm/°C. Operating temperature is rated at -55°C to 150°C.
In addition to finding homes in portable electronics devices, the CSRL2 can be used for current-sensing and feedback circuits in disk drives, power supplies, automotive systems and instrumentation.
The CSRL2 is typically priced at approximately $0.25 in quantities of 5,000. Delivery is from stock to six weeks.
