Melville, N.Y. To address the European Union's Restriction of Hazardous Substances (RoHS) directive and related environmental compliance issues facing the electronics industry, PartMiner has added lead-free and RoHS material content to its CAPS electronic component database of more than 35 million components from 1900+ manufacturers.
The new material content data source provides both high level compliance indications, and detailed parametric values such as moisture sensitivity ratings as well as substance weights and locations within the component. The high-level data includes Yes/No parameters for both lead-free and RoHS compliance, and the detailed information includes the various hazardous substance names, symbols, and Chemical Abstract Service (CAS) numbers.
The company said the compilation of hazardous material information will enable
buyers and engineers in the electronic component industry to quickly assess hazardous material information and make informed decisions for compliance to import/export, recycling and disposal regulations.
