Malvern, Pa. Designed for communications applications with limited board space, Vishay Intertechnology, Inc. has expanded its IMC family of wirewound, surface-mount inductors with the release of two new devices packaged in small 0402 and 0603 case sizes.
The new Vishay Dale IMC-0402-01 and IMC-0603-01 wirewound inductors feature advances such as higher self-resonant frequencies (SRF), better Q factors, and more stable performance. The IMC-0402-01 offers SRF values ranging from 2100 MHz to 6000 MHz over an inductance range of 1.0 nH to 47.0 nH and improved minimum Q factor values from 26 to 13. For the IMC-0603-01, SRF values range from 1000 MHz to 6900 MHz over an inductance range of 2.0 nH to 270 nH, and minimum Q factor values range from 43 to 16.
Rated DC current for the IMC-0402-01 ranges from 150 mA to 1360 mA and 170 mA to 700 mA for the IMC-0603-01. Tolerances as low as ±2% are available for devices with inductance ratings of 10 nH and up.
The new IMC inductors are rated for an operating temperature range of -40°C to 125°C and a storage temperature of -40°C to 125°C. Their lead-free, surface-mount construction enables easy assembly with excellent solderability and resistance to soldering heat, said the company. Both devices are suitable for reflow soldering.
Designed for systems such as cellular phones, cable modems, ADSL, repeaters, and Bluetooth devices, the new Vishay Dale IMC-0402-01 and IMC-0603-01 feature dimensions of 0.039 in. x 0.022 in. (1.00 mm x 0.55 mm) with a 0.020-in. (0.5 mm) height profile and 0.063 in. x 0.041 in. (1.60 mm x 1.05 mm) with a height profile of 0.041 in. (1.05 mm), respectively.
Available in tape-and-reel packaging, samples and production quantities of the new wirewound, surface-mount inductors are available now. Lead time for production quantities is nine weeks. Pricing for U.S. delivery only starts at $0.06 in quantities of 25,000.
