Taiwan Aliner Industries Inc. offers a complete range of MC card coax connectors that includes more than a dozen products. The line includes three types of RF antenna switches plus straight/right angle plugs and jacks for popular cable sizes.
These devices can be used in a variety of applications including Bluetooth, GPS, RFID, WiFi/Wi-Max and 802.11 WLAN as a replacement for MMCX connectors where strong rotational torque and higher mating reliability are key requirements.
Over the past six years, the company has shrunk the size of the MC card connector by 20%, offering design engineers a short mating distance of 2.90 mm, snap-on coupling and excellent RF characteristics in a compact, high-density electronic package. The MC card switch connectors feature minimal board height, from 3.60 mm (edge launch) to 7.60 mm (PC-board mount) and mate with an audible "ding" sound to ensure connection.
Available in PC-board/edge mount, surface mount and mating cable ends, all of the 50-ohm connectors in the series are in compliance with RoHS requirements. They provide a VSWR of less than 1.35, an insertion loss of -0.28 dB and greater than 3,000 mating cycles.
Pricing ranges from $0.94 each for the antenna type and $1.21 each for the switch type in quantities of 500. Aliner Industries is one of the original designers and the only Asian vendor approved by Agere Systems to produce and sell MC card (Lucent WaveLAN) connectors. Customers must obtain authorization from Agere Systems (Allentown, Pa.) to purchase the antenna switch connectors from Aliner.
