Romoland, Calif. The CT series of current sense transformers from Datatronics Distribution, Inc. now meets the requirements of the European Union's Restriction of Hazardous Substances (RoHS) Directive that governs the manufacture of electronic components (including bobbin materials) and electronic equipment. This directive requires the use of lead-free solder as well as the elimination of cadmium and mercury.
Developed for DC/DC converter applications, the CT current sense transformers feature a compact 6-mm square surface-mount design with a 4-mm seated height. Performing optimally at frequencies of 100 kHz and above, the new devices offer turns ratios from 1:20 to 1:200. Key electrical parameters include an inductance range of 100 to 11000 mH, a resistance range of 0.50 ohms to 27.50 ohms maximum and an isolation voltage of 500 Vrms minimum.
By June 2005, Datatronics will provide RoHS Directive compliant components for all of its standard product lines. The company will supply RoHS compliant components in the interim time period upon request.
The RoHS compliant CT series is priced from $0.69 in production volume. Delivery is from stock to six weeks.
