Fremont, Calif. Beganto Inc. has announced the second generation of its online NeedaSample application, accessible at www.needasample.com, that enables engineers and buyers to procure electronic component samples from participating manufacturers and distributors. New online features include filtering, batch processing and e-mail preference management to help engineers monitor and manage the progress of their sample requests.
Key enhancements include detailed filtering by sample order status as well as by date, batch processing of multiple line item samples, and the ability to manage e-mail alert preferences.
The sample request service is free to engineers and buyers who register as members of the Beganto Open Network (BeON) program. The company said more than 20,000 people have used the program.
For a product to be processed through the system, it must either be produced by a BeON member manufacturer, or stocked by a BeON member distributor. Order progress and technical support is available from BeON member manufacturers' representatives and distributors, who also register free.
Component manufacturer participants that offer samples through the BeON program include American Bright Optoelectronics, Alps Electric (U.S.A.), Catalyst Semiconductor, Central Technologies, Electrocube, Inc., Hirose Electronics, JAE Electronics, NDK America, Inc., NEC Electronics America, NJR Corp., Torex USA Corp. and United Chemi-Con.
