Santa Ana, Calif. New AR4 and AR5 series analog rocker switches from ITT Industries, Electronics Components feature a contactless sensing design that provides an accurate, proportional output suitable for off-road machinery. The new devices also tout a long life of more than one million cycles (≥1.5M cycles for the AR4), and deliver the reliability required for applications in demanding environmental conditions.
Both the AR4 and AR5 analog rocker switches meet rigorous electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) and mechanical vibration standards. They have also been tested to withstand salt spray and chemical splash (SAE J1455 4.3.3) tests. The AR4 series is protected to IP67, and the AR5 meets IP65 requirements.
Targeting applications such as panels, multifunction grips and fingertip controls for electro-hydraulic devices in electronic control systems, the AR4 is equipped with a thumbwheel-style actuator, while the AR5 features a paddle actuator. Both devices include integrated protection circuitry and temperature compensation. Actuators can be customized depending on ergonomic requirements.
Prices range from $25 to $50 depending on volume and configuration. Lead times vary depending on design and configuration.
