Santa Barbara, Calif. GIGAVAC says its new 15 kV G13 relay easily handles high in-rush current switching between power sources and loads, replacing the need for two double-throw relays in these applications.
The new completely sealed double pole/double throw (DPDT) 2 Form C relay are available in coil voltages of 12 Vdc, 26.5 Vdc, and 115 Vdc. Custom coil voltages are available. The company said the SF6 gas inside the G13 enables high-voltage standoff capabilities that ionize during contact closure, which increases the relay's ability to switch high current in-rush loads. The new relay incorporates the company's changeable coil feature that allows users to change the coil even after the relay has been installed.
The G13 relay is designed for easy installation and mounting flexibility. Housed in a 55 mm (W) x 48 mm (H) package, the relay can be mounted in any position using either the jam nut supplied for through-chassis installations or mounting tabs on top. It comes equipped with 30 cm or any custom length of high-voltage flying leads.
The G13 relay is priced at $252 each in quantities of 25. Product is generally shipped the same day the order is received.
