Raleigh, N.C. Stackpole Electronics Inc. has expanded its RNC series of precision chip resistors to include 2010 and 2512 package sizes to address accuracy and stability concerns in ultra-precise instrumentation and control circuitry.
The RNC 57 device in the 2010 package is rated to ½ watt at 70°C and offers resistance values as low as 4.7 Ω to 1 MΩ, in tolerances to 0.1%. The RNC 63 device in a 2512 case size is rated to 1 watt at 70°C and features the same resistance and tolerance values as the RNC 57 resistor. The operating temperature range of the RNC series is -55°C to 150°C.
The company notes that in the past there have been fewer options for higher power and larger size requirements. The RNC series offers designers more choices for applications that require tight absolute tolerance and tighter temperature coefficient ratios (TCRs).
Typical applications include precision circuits such as attenuator circuits, bridge circuits, RC oscillators and active filters for instrumentation, medical equipment, computers, power supplies and telecommunications.
Typical pricing is $0.25 in quantities of 1,000, depending on tolerance and TCR ratings. Delivery is three to six weeks. The devices are also available via the company's quick delivery service.
