Santa Clara, Calif. A 6.25-Gbits/s quad wideband noise canceller from Quellan Inc. is designed to significantly improve system interconnect speeds.
The Nx2000 is a VLSI analog device that integrates eight of the company's channel emulator cores, each with fully adaptive phase, amplitude and frequency control. It can cancel eight network aggressors from four victim channels dynamically in under a square inch of board area. As a result, channel throughput is improved by up to 400%, according to the company.
OEMs can increase interconnect speed without having to change their interconnect infrastructure, said Tony Stelliga, Quellan's president and chief executive.
"This greatly reduces both capital equipment and development costs, while preventing costly network downtime required to install new interconnects," Stelliga said. "The Nx2000 quad canceller is fully adaptive to ensure the highest performance across a wide range of possible system variations in telecom/enterprise, network storage and computing applications."
The Nx2000 is available in a 12-mm x 12-mm, 169-pin BGA package and is fabricated in a 0.13-micron CMOS process. The Nx2000 operates from a 1.2V to 2.5-V supply and consumes less than 600-mW of power per receive channel.
