Austin, Tex.A new 64-Megabit flash memory module has been designed to support the high-reliability requirements of the military, aerospace, transportation and medical industries.
Austin Semiconductor Inc.'s 2M X 32, 64-Mbit flash memory module, part number AS8F2M32, is packaged in a 68-pin ceramic-quad flat pack (CQFP), and can be programmed in-system with a single 5-V, Vcc supply.
The AS8F2M32 offers an access time of 90-ns, allowing high-speed microprocessors to operate without wait states. It also offers access times of 120- and 150-ns.
To eliminate bus contention, the 64-Mbit flash memory module has separate chip enable (CE\), write enable (WE\) and output enable (OE\) controls. The module requires 5-V of power for read and write functions, and includes internally generated and regulated voltages for program and erase operations.
The AS8F2M32 supports full chip erase and complies with JEDEC standards.
In quantities of 1 to 24, the 64-Mbit flash memory module costs $388 each. In quantities of 25 to 99, it is priced at $300 each, and in 100 to 499-piece units, it costs $257. Lead time is 12 to 14 weeks ARO.
