VDSL, VDSL2 solutions aimed at triple play deployments
The Accelity family of highly integrated, very high-speed digital subscriber line (VDSL) and VDSL2 central office (CO) and customer premise equipment (CPE) semiconductor solutions includes VDSL and VDSL2 system solutions for asynchronous transfer mode (ATM) and packet-based digital subscriber line access multiplexers (DSLAMs) and client-side terminals.
The new devices are targeted at triple-play broadband service deployments, remote terminal and fiber extension applications, and provide operators and manufacturers with low total system cost. VDSL2 technology provides higher downstream and upstream data rates than ADSL and ADSL2plus, and longer reach connectivity than VDSL. The Accelity chipset family is based on
industry-standard discrete multi-tone (DMT) line code technology, and is compliant with the recently ratified VDSL2/G.993.2 ITU standard. Production devices are available
now and are shipping worldwide.
Accelity CO chipsets offer full-rate DSL performance and provide density, cost, power, and functionality benefits. The CO system solution includes Conexant's full-rate VDSL digital signal processor (DSP) and analog front-end (AFE) chipsets, providing ATM and packet
support on a per port basis. Accelity VDSL CPE solutions are targeted at modems, Ethernet bridges/routers, wireless local area network (WLAN) and broadband residential gateways, and integrated access devices (IADs). The chipsets are based on Conexant's Integrated Software
on Silicon (ISOS) platform.
The Accelity product family is available today. Complete CO and CPE reference designs for ATM and packet-based VDSL/VDSL2 applications are also offered. The CO ATM and packet chipset solutions are priced at $15.00 per port in quantities of 100,000 each. The CPE ATM and packet chipset solutions are priced at $17.00 per port in quantities of 100,000 each. For more information visit: www.conexant.com.
