Minneapolis—Ault's new PW136 external power series delivers 60 watts in nine models (3.3, 5, 7, 9, 12, 15, 18, 24, and 48 VDC) from a universal 100-250 VAC input. "OEMs will find this power supply to be versatile and popular because it delivers a range of power from 23 to 60 watts," said Greg Harris, vice president of business development.
Features of the fixed-frequency flyback design, which come in desktop and wall-mount styles for applications from telecom to industrial to instrumentation equipment, include a combined line and load regulation of ±1 percent, maximum ripple and noise of 50 mV p-p (3.3-volt model; 480 mV p-p for 48-volt model), typical transient response of 0.5 ms for 50 percent load change, and efficiency up to 85 percent. The PW136 is rated for operation over 0 to +50°C without derating. Calculated MTBF is 100,000 hours minimum. The supplies carry over-current and short-circuit protection.
