Rolling Meadows, Ill. Ohmite Manufacturing Company has expanded its 10 Series with the introduction of a new four-terminal wirewound resistor. These axial-leaded precision wirewound resistors are specifically designed for low-resistance applications that require high accuracy and high temperature stability.
This four-terminal version is specially designed for use in a Kelvin configuration, in which a current is applied through two opposite leads and the sensing voltage is measured across the other two leads. This design also results in a lower temperature coefficient of resistance (TCR) and lower self-heating drift, which may be experienced on two-terminal resistors.
Available in resistance values from 0.005 to 0.100 ohms, the wirewound resistors offer a standard 1% tolerance, and low inductance of less than 0.25 ohms. Power ratings of 3, 4 ½, and 7 watts are available as standard ratings. Compliant to the European Union's Restriction of Hazardous Substances (RoHS) directive, the new devices feature tinned copper leads and exceed the requirements of MIL-PRF-49465. The operating temperature range is -55°C to 275°C. Click here for the 10 series datasheet.
Pricing ranges from $2.31 to $3.12 each in quantities of 500.
