Pittsford, N.Y. Saelig Co. Inc. now offers Euroquartz's new EQ157 series of ultra-miniature crystals that provide a 32.768kHz output for real-time clock applications. The devices are housed in surface-mount packages measuring 3.2 x 1.2 x 0.95 mm, making them suitable for battery-powered and handheld equipment.
Designed to provide the smallest possible component size for real-time clock applications, the devices feature a low mass, rugged construction and a nominal frequency of 32.7680kHz with a calibration tolerance of ±20 ppm at 25°C.
Other key specifications include a maximum drive level of 1 μW, a load capacitance (CL) of 12.5 or 7 pF, an equivalent series resistance of 65 kohms, a temperature coefficient of -0.035/deg C2 (parabolic), and a shunt capacitance of 1.7 pF typical. Aging is ±5 ppm maximum in the first year at 25°C with an operating temperature range from -40°C to 85°C. The storage temperature range is -55° to 125°C.
Pricing for the X-cut EQ157 series crystals is $1.55 each in quantities of 100.
