Raleigh, N.C. Stackpole Electronics, Inc. has introduced an anti-surge, thickfilm resistor technology as a surface-mount replacement for wirewound and axial-leaded film products, particularly in applications with repetitive surge and pulse load requirements.
Designated the RPC series, the chip resistor is available in resistance values from .27Ω to 22 MΩ in tolerances to 5% with temperature coefficient of resistance (TCR) ratings of 55 ppm/°C. The high-energy chip device also handles 1800 W for 1 millisecond for load power and transient voltage demands. The operating temperature range is -55°C to 150°C.
Typical pricing for the RPC series is approximately $0.05 - $0.10 each in quantities of 5,000. Delivery is six to eight weeks.
