Chino, Calif. Designed for light engines and low-power consumption applications, American Bright Optoelectronics offers a new MagnaBrite 1-watt LED module featuring a new white LED design that incorporates a heat sink base capable of handling forward currents to 350 mA.
The new 1-watt BWL series devices also feature a low-profile exposed metal base for easy on-board circuitry installation and improved power dissipation. The compact design, including heat sink, measures 10.00 x 13.00-mm, with a 4.2-mm profile. An integral 7-mm diameter bezel and flush lens creates an ideal configuration for LCD backlighting, and uses in small lamps, torches and general illumination applications, according to the company.
Available in white, red, green, blue and yellow, the LED modules are offered standard on a PC-board base measuring 20.00-mm in diameter, and pre-wired for direct interface with wire-based circuitry. Depending on color (wavelength), the material is either AlInGaN or AlGalnP. Performance characteristics include DC forward current (IF) of 350 mA, and 1-watt power dissipation (PD). Viewing intensity, or total flux is 30 lumens (lm), and the viewing angle is 120°. The operating temperature range is -30° to 120°C. All configurations are manufactured in compliance with lead-free (RoHS) materials and processes.
Modules are packaged in auto insertion tubes for direct insertion onto PC-boards, 50 pieces per tube, 50 tubes per carton. The LED modules are priced from $2.00 each for red in production quantities, and are available from stock or the factory in special configurations.
