Mango DSP Inc. has taken multiprocessing to the limit with its new Bluejay Compact PCI (CPCI) card with four Altera Stratics FPGAs and up to 16 TI DSP engines.
Designed for high-performance video processing applications, the Bluejay uses the four Stratex II EP2S130 devices in combination with the four 1 GHz TI DSPs and four gigabytes of SDRAM.
Targeted at DSP intensive algorithms that require true multiprocessing, the Bluejay supports PCI 66/64 as well as a rear I/O transition card, which can provide any type of digital I/O via a LVDS interface.
The card is suitable for the development of broadcast-quality H.264/AVC encoding at 1080p, as well as for video conferencing applications where thousands of video streams need to be transcoded.
