SAN FRANCISCO Mistral Software has introduced a rapid development kit (RDK) for Texas Instruments' OMAP5912 starter kit, the company said Wednesday (June 29).
Mistral (Bangalore, India) said the RDK would help product designers and software developers accelerate product and application development processes on the OMAP5912 dual-core processor. Mistral said the RDK would provide product developers with a platform to simulate or test the functionality end applications before finalizing product design.
The RDK board is a plug-in module for the OMAP5912 starter kit. According to Mistral, it supports four RF modules GPS, GSM/GPRS, WLAN and Bluetooth on a single board.
The RDK bundle includes TI's OMAP5912 starter kit and Mistral's Q-VGA LCD module, camera module and RDK board, along with Windows CE runtime and drivers, Mistral said.
"The human mind is the limitation to the possibilities that this platform can be used for," said Anees Ahmed, Mistral CEO, in a statement. "Our goal is to provide solutions that help product designers and developers shorten their development timeline and move products to market faster."
