Roseburg, Ore. The new MP series of TO-style current sense resistors from Caddock Electronics Inc. offer circuit designers a wide range of power ratings, resistance values as low as 0.005 ohms, and several package choices. The new devices fit power electronic circuit applications where a higher voltage signal is needed due to a noisy environment, or where a minimum load is required by the circuit.
Available in TO-126, TO-220 and TO-247 packages, the MP series devices are heat sink mountable to allow for higher power dissipation in a compact design without creating excess heating inside the electronics assembly. In addition, the non-inductive design allows these TO-style current sense resistors to operate in high frequency applications and switching circuits.
These devices provide resistance values as low as 0.005Ω to 0.009Ω at ±5% tolerance, 0.010Ω to 0.019Ω at ±2% tolerance and 0.020Ω and above at ±1% tolerance. Power ratings range from 1 to 100 watts.
The TO-126 style devices are available up to 35 amps or 25 watts (25°C case temperature). The TO-220 style parts offer up to 40 amps or 50 watts while the TO-220 clip mount versions supply up to 60 amps or 60 watts (25°C case temperature). The TO-247 style devices provide up to 44 amps or 100 watts (25°C case temperature).
