Sunnyvale,CAMaxim Integrated Products introduced the MAX589116-bit, 600MSamples/s digital-to-analog (D/A) converter. At a 30-MHz output frequency, the device offers industry-leading 80-dBc performance in spurious-free dynamic range (SFDR) and -94-dBc intermodulation distortion (IMD).
An LVDS input interface lets the MAX5891 receive data at 600MHz and produce wide bandwidth signals while maintaining low noise and distortion. The device consumes 298mW at a 600MSamples/s update rate.
The MAX5891 is well suited for use in broadband multicarrier communications, direct IF synthesis, automated test equipment (ATE), and instrumentation.
It is specified for the extended-industrial temperature range (-40 degrees Celsius to +85 degrees Celsius) and is available in a 68-pin QFN-EP package.
The MAX5891 is priced at $34.70 each in 1,000-piece quantities. It is available now. An evaluation kit is also available. Click here for the data sheet.
