Sunnyvale, CA Maxim Integrated Products has released the MAX5762 (16-bit) and MAX5774 (14-bit), 32-channel, digital-to-analog converters (DACs) with integrated programmable offset and gain calibration functionality for automated test equipment, fiber optics and data acquisition.
A built-in algorithm senses and corrects for offset and gain errors in accordance with programmed levels, eliminating the need for external offset and gain correction circuitry, output amplifiers, filters, or capacitors.
The MAX5762 provides integral nonlinearity of 0.012% FSR (max), and differential nonlinearity of less than 1 LSB. Each of the four output voltage ranges (0 to +5V, 0 to +10V, -2.5V to +7.5V, and +/-5V) maintains linearity to within 200mV of the supply rails. An integrated offset DAC allows programmable common-mode adjustment of the voltage ranges.
Designed in a 10mm x 10mm, 68-pin TQFN and12mm x 12mm, 64-pin TQFN packages, the DACs SPI-/QSPI-/MICROWIRE-compatible, 3-wire serial interface connects directly to microprocessors and DSPs without additional circuitry, and supports clock data rates as high as 33MHz. The devices also have a digital output for daisy-chaining multiple devices in a system.
The MAX5762 and MAX5774 cost $68.89 and $47.95 in 1000-piece quantities, respectively. Click here for the data sheet.
