Romoland, Calif. The new low-profile, shielded DR363 and DR364 series of surface-mount inductors from Datatronic Distribution Inc. are designed to provide protection against electromagnetic interference (EMI) in high-current filtering applications.
Available in a wide range of inductance values from 2.0 to 150 μH with an operating frequency range from 10 KHz to 1MHz, the DR363 and DR364 devices provide a direct current resistance (DCR) from 19.2 to 738Ω maximum, and a maximum current rating from 0.31 to 5.41 A. The operating temperature range is -20° to 85°C. All materials meet UL 94V-0 requirements.
Designed as circuit protection for dc/dc converters, these DR363 and DR364 inductors also feature a compact design with a seated profile as low as 0.118 inches (3.0 mm) above the circuit board, which make them suitable for high-density circuit board designs, and handheld or portable equipment such as digital still cameras, digital video cameras and personal data assistants.
Measuring as small as 0.248 inches (6.3 mm) wide x 0.244 inches (6.2 mm) long, the flat top surface of the devices makes them compatible with high-speed pick-and-place assembly equipment. They are also suitable for high-temperature soldering. Custom designs are available.
The DR363 and DR364 series inductors are priced at $0.25 each in typical production volumes. Delivery is from stock to six weeks.
