Boise, Idaho Micron Technology Inc. has started to ship in volume quantities 4-Gbit and 8-Gbit qualified NAND flash memory products to support growing customer demand in the MP3, USB drive and flash card sectors.

The 4-Gbit flash device, MT29F4G08BABWP, and the 8-Gbit part, MT29F8G08FABWP, use a 3.3-V power supply and are housed in a standard 48-pin thin small outline package (TSOP).
The MT29F4G08BABWP, 4-Gbit NAND device is available in 512-Mbit x 8 and 256-Mbit x 16 configurations. The MT29F8G08FABWP, 8-Gbit NAND device is offered in a 1-Gbit x 8 configuration.
Pricing for 8-Gbit NAND flash memory is approximately $55; 4-Gbit NAND flash memory devices are approximately $32.
