Gardena, Calif. J.W. Miller Magnetics has introduced two new RoHS-compliant 7400 and 7500 series of common mode inductors for noise-suppression in a variety of applications. With proper design, these through-hole inductors can reduce or eliminate unwanted conductive electromagnetic interference (EMI), said the company.
The smallest of the series, Model 7400, measures 19.0-mm wide x 21.0-mm high, allowing for high-density placement in space-constrained board layout designs. Depending on the model, inductance values range from 0.6 to 45.0 mH. The devices offer a rated voltage of 250 Vac and dielectric strength of 3750 Vrms. DC resistance is specified from 0.025Ω to 2.68Ω. The standard operating temperature is -55° to 105°C.
The new inductors also provide high attenuation at low frequency and are constructed with flame retardant plastic bobbins. Featuring high inductance in a compact footprint, the new common mode inductors can be used as line filters in switch mode power supplies commonly used in desktop computers, industrial electronics, office equipment, and consumer electronics such as TVs, DVDs and audio equipment.
The new 7400 and 7500 series inductors are priced from $0.98 to $1.31 each. Delivery is four to six weeks.
