Deer Park, N.Y. Challenge Electronics, Inc. has introduced a new series of miniature, lead-free piezo alarms that fit a variety of audible systems including those in marine, automotive, industrial, agricultural and medical environments. These continuous tone CE-C80 devices are factory tested to withstand exposure to salt spray (ASTM B117 for 300 hours) and meet or exceed industry specifications for vibration and shock resistance.
The new RoHS-compliant CE-C80 alarms provide up to 105 ± 5 dB (A) at 15 Vdc (at 24 inches, 25°C) of tone at a frequency of 2900 ±250 Hz. The alarms are hermetically sealed within a flame retardant UL 94-V0 plastic yellow casing. They feature a corrosion-resistant stainless steel 304 diaphragm and offer a wide storage temperature range of -30°C to 100°C.
The CE-C80 alarms are available in two termination styles two, color-coded 5-in. long wire leads and electro-tin plated PC pins (8- and 12-mm). The latter style is a time-saving feature that enables OEMs to match device polarity with its host board during production, said the company.
Pricing for the CE-C80 alarms is $2.44 in quantities of 1,000. Delivery is from stock to 75 days.
