Irvine, Calif.PXI and PC-based test product maker Geotest-Marvin Test Systems announces the addition of a 20-slot 3U-sized PXI (PCI Extensions for Instrumentation) chassis series to its family of PXI modules and mainframes. These chasses can be used for ATE (automatic test equipment), data-acq, or process control systems. Twelve different versions are available.
Dubbed the GX7300 Series, they feature one system controller slot and nineteen PXI/CPCI slots. The 20-slot configuration, with its 19 peripheral slots, makes it a useful platform for applications with limited space requirements but where you still need a maximum slot configuration.
Slot 1 is a dedicated system controller slot. It can be embedded or remote, using a PXI bus expander. A PXI star trigger controller, or any PXI or cPCI (CompactPCI) instrument can be placed in Slot 2.
Slots 3 through 15 support the PXI star trigger and and PXI or cPCI instrument. The remaining slots 16 through 20 can accommodate any PXI or cPCI instrument without the star trigger.
The GX7300 also optionally includes built-in peripherals (such as hard disk, floppy disk, and CD-ROM drives), and is available with an 800-W or 1100-W system power supply. A forced air-cooling configuration provides for thermal management. It uses a thermostatically controlled 235-cfm fan.
In addition, the GX7300 features an on-board microcontroller that provides per-slot temperature monitoring and automatic shut down if an over-temperature condition occurs. The series also includes configurations for supporting mass interconnect interfaces adapters.
Prcing ranges from about $3700 to $4500. For more information on this GX7300 Series contact Geotest-Marvin Test Systems, 17570 Cartwright Road, Irvine, Calif. 92614.
