Scottsdale, Ariz. Constructed with heat-resistant material, the new LP01 series of pushbutton switches from NKK Switches can withstand lead-free soldering.
The short body LP01 series of illuminated pushbuttons and its packaging materials meet the European Union's Restriction of Hazardous Substances (RoHS) directive. These illuminated switches are available in both single-pole and double-pole momentary versions. Rated for 3 A at 125 Vac or 3 A at 250 Vac or 30 A at 30 Vdc, these pushbutton switches have UL94V-0 flammability ratings. The series has been submitted for UL Recognition and CSA Certification.
These LP01 devices provide a short body of .551 in. (14 mm) behind panel depth. They come fully assembled with a translucent white cap as well as a red, green or amber LED, which is an integral part of the switch.
The diameter of the cap is .535 in. (13.6 mm) and the overall diameter including the housing is .787 in. (20 mm). The smooth and slightly concave cap is designed to accommodate the fingertip comfortably, and the switch's unique design and construction prevents the cap's removal and limits tampering. It also provides a crisp indication of circuit status facilitated by the snap-action contact mechanism. In addition, it is designed with an arc barrier between the movable contacts to protect against crossover. Mechanical life is rated at 500,000 operations minimum.
The LP01 is available in both snap-in and bushing-mount versions. Terminals are combination solder lug and .110-in. quick connect. They are epoxy sealed to lock out flux, dust, solvents and other contaminants. Non-illuminated models are also available and feature the same characteristics as the illuminated versions. The LP01 switches are priced at $5.04 each in quantities of 1,000. Delivery is from stock to seven weeks.
