Greenville, S. C. KEMET Corp. has expanded its RoHS-compliant options for tantalum leaded capacitors, and claims first to market with new RoHS-compliant/lead-free axial-molded (T322), radial-molded (T340) and commercial hermetically sealed (T110/T140) tantalum capacitors. The company will continue to offer standard tin/lead (Sn/Pb) versions.
The T322 axial-molded tantalum capacitors, available in A, B, C, D, E and F case sizes, provide a capacitance range of .10 to 330 μF with tolerances of ±5%, ±10% and ±20%. Voltage ratings range from 2 to 50 volts. The T340 radial-molded tantalum capacitors provide a capacitance range of .10 to 330 μF with tolerances of ±5%, ±10% and ±20%. The T340 components are available in A, B, C, D, E and F case sizes with voltage ratings from 3 to 50 volts.
Available in A, B, C, and D case sizes, the T110/T140 tantalum capacitors offer a capacitance range from .0047 to 1200 μF with tolerances of ±5%, ±10% and ±20%. Voltage ratings are available from 6 to 125 volts.
Due to the added cost of the lead-free process, the lead-free versions will increase in price by approximately 10%. A 1μF/35-volt device in an A case size is priced at $0.5900. Delivery is approximately six weeks for the lead-free tantalum capacitors.
