Anritsu introduced such enhanced options for its MP1590B Network Performance Tester as a Differential Delay option, an enhanced Virtual Concatenation (VCAT) and Link Capacity Adjustment Scheme (LCAS). With the options, the MP1590B is claimed by Anritsu to be the industry's only single-instrument solution for fully testing and verifying Differential Delay, LCAS and VCAT in next-generation Ethernet over SONET/SDH (EoS) networks.
The expanded analysis capabilities provide engineers and network QoS professionals with an efficient evaluation test platform for EoS-compatible networks, devices, and modules based on ITU-T standards. The MP1590B supports virtual concatenation without restrictions on member assignments, so that any channel can serve as a group member. It also can sequence up to 64 LCAS commands to support LCAS sate-machine exercising.
The Differential Delay option allows for independent delays up to 512 ms, the limit established by the ITU-T standard for each group member. The option also has a Differential Delay generation mode that supports multiple preset values with user-defined sweep characteristics to allow for emulation of real network conditions.
The new options allow device manufacturers to better verify performance limits of devices. All relevant network standards are supported providing standards-compliant compatibility.
The MP1590B can be configured to suit a variety of measurement applications conforming to ITU-T standards. These include jitter generation and measurement for SONET, SDH, OTN, and 10-G Ethernet per ITU-T standards; optical performance testing for SONET, SDH, and OTN; and electrical performance testing for DS1/DS3, E1/2/3/4, STS-1/3/192, STM-0/1/64, and OTN.
The MP1590 is claimed to be the only single-instrument solution with encapsulation support for GFP-F, LAPS (X.86), LEX, PPP, and Cisco HDLC protocols. The MP1590B also performs Ethernet and IP analysis into Layers 3 and 4.
As an EoS analyzer, the MP1590B sells for $55,150. The new EoS options start at $3,215 for VCAT, $5,315 for LCAS, and $3,215 for Differential Delay. Delivery is 6 to 8 weeks depending upon configuration.
