Touting superior jitter performance, comparable to SAW-based devices, MtronPTI has introduced two new oscillator lines that feature the company's QiK Chip technology for a shorter two-week cycle time. These include the low-jitter M210x series of clock oscillators and the M310x series of voltage-controlled crystal oscillators (VCXOs) with frequencies from 150 MHz to 1.4 GHz.
Available in either a 5 x 7 mm or 9 x 14-mm package, the M210x clock oscillators feature jitter performance of 0.30 picoseconds (ps) typical at 622.0 MHz and is said to provide better stability (± 20 ppm) than SAW-based devices over the industrial operating temperature range of -40deg;C to 85°C. These clock oscillators are available in an operating voltage of 1.8 V, 2.5 V and 3.3 V, along with PECL, LVDS and CML output options. They incorporate a 0.01 μF bypass capacitor for optimum noise suppression.
The M310x VCXOs, available in 5 x 7 mm or 9 x 14-mm packages, offer low jitter performance of 0.50 ps typical at 622.08 MHz. Like the M210x devices, the VCXOs offer operating voltages of 1.8 V, 2.5 V and 3.3 V, as well as PECL, LVDS and CML output options. They also incorporate a 0.01 μF bypass capacitor for optimum noise suppression. They feature an absolute pull range (APR) of ±50 or ±100 ppm over the industrial operating temperature range of -40deg;C to 85°C.
Both the 5 x 7 mm and 9 x 14-mm packages are ROHS compliant and 260°C reflow compatible. Applications include telecommunications, wireless base stations, avionic flight controls, test equipment, instrumentation, and military communications.
Pricing for the M210x and M310x devices ranges from $17 to $40, depending on frequency and performance in quantities of 1,000.
