Myrtle Beach, S.C. Responding to the requirements of customers who are exempt from the European Union's Restriction of Hazardous Substances (RoHS) directive, AVX Corp. has recently developed a tin-lead finish version of its conformally-coated tantalum radial leaded capacitor, which was initially introduced as the first lead-free component of its kind in January 2005.
The new TEP series capacitors offer a capacitance range of 0.1μF to 330μF with a capacitance tolerance of ±10% or ±20%. They also are available in a wide selection of case sizes (A, B, C, D, E, F, G, H, J, K, L, M, N, P and R) and voltage ratings (6.3, 10, 16, 20, 25, 35 and 50 volts) to meet virtually any application requirement.
These TEP series capacitors also feature low leakage current, low impedance and exceptional temperature stability in very small packages, said the company. They are manufactured with a flame-retardant coating and are available in bulk or tape-and-reel packaging.
Typical pricing for the TEP series tin-lead finish capacitors ranges from $0.130 to $2.50 in quantities of 10,000. Delivery is from six to eight weeks. Samples are available immediately.
