New Micro Web Server Module Delivers Web-based Data Collection and Control Applications in a Compact 3 x 4 x 1-in. Box
CHESTERLAND, OHComputer Aided Solutions has announced the new PRODIGIO WSC31-CB Micro Web Server Module, a powerful, low-cost platform for delivering web-based data collection and control applications. This compact unit can effectively replace a PC-based solution for many data acquisition and control applications, including remote monitoring of equipment, automated email alarm notification, wireless data collection, and web enabling of legacy systems.
The PRODIGIO can deliver HTML pages, collect data and take actions based on information gathered from a web page, transfer files via FTP, and send email based on timed or external events. PRODIGIO is supplied with support for common server and client functions including:
TCP/IP and PPP Support
DNS and DHCP Client
To facilitate easy connection to external devices, the WSC31-CB module is configured with a variety of common hardware interfaces including:
A 10/100 base-T, RJ-45 connection
A USB interface
2 RS-232 ports
2 Analog inputs
16 Programmable digital I/O lines plus 2 Opto-isolated digital inputs
The module also has a Compact Flash slot that can be used for non-volatile memory expansion, an 802.11B wireless adapter card, GSM modem card, or PSTN modem card.
The PRODIGIO module is programmed via a "C-like" scripting language to allow quick program development. In addition to standard programming constructs, this language includes an internal FAT-32 file system, high level functions such as SendMail, and support for CGI and SSI scripts.
The new PRODIGIO Micro Web Server measures only 3 x 4 x 1-in. and is built around an advanced 32-bit processor and provides a powerful low-cost solution for applications that previously required the use of a PC.
